This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.ĬomboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helperĭownload and install Avira Personal FREE Antivirus from Here. Please include the contents of C:\ComboFix.txt in your next replyĪ word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may cause to your machine by running ComboFix on your own.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware. Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts. Please close all open application windows. Please disable any Antivirus or Firewall you have active, as shown in this topic. **IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop** Please download ComboFix from one of the following links. Check/tick the bolded items only on the list then click Next > Yes. Once the program has searched for leftovers click Next. The program will run, when prompted again click Yes > Next. Be sure the Moderate option is selected then click Next. From the list of programs click on xxxxx and chose Uninstall. Double click Revo Uninstaller to run it. Please download and install Revo Uninstaller Free. In the meantime after running ComboFix i would like you to install Avira Personal FREE Antivirus, see instructions at the bottom of this post. Since AVG cannot be effectively disabled before running ComboFix, the author recommends you to uninstall AVG first. This is because AVG " falsely" detects ComboFix (or its embedded files) as a threat and may remove them resulting in the tool not working correctly which in turn can cause "unpredictable results". We need to run a tool called ComboFix, ComboFix will not run until AVG is uninstalled as a protective measure against the anti-virus.
